It was recently announced that
the John P. Murphy Foundation awarded a grant in the amount of
$500,000 in support of the Campaign for the Idea Center at Playhouse
Square. The John P. Murphy Foundation has been a generous supporter
of both ideastream and Playhouse Square Foundation for many years
and its gift to the campaign corresponds with its primary interest
in giving to educational, artistic and cultural institutions.
The campaign supports the development of the Idea Center as a
unique community resource with dedicated space for arts education
programs, media production, and the application of digital technology.
Allan Zambie, Executive Vice President and
Secretary of the John P. Murphy Foundation, said, "We think this
is one of the most innovative projects that we've seen in years
and we wanted to give it strong support."
