Recently, the Susan and John Turben
Foundation made a contribution in the amount of $500,000 in support
of the Idea Center at Playhouse Square.
“This unique combination of media and other
technology, leveraged for the benefit of the community, will be
a model that will be replicated throughout the country,”
remarked Susan Turben. “This area has much to offer the
rest of world, and we’re excited to help get that message
out.”
The project’s focus on education was a compelling
reason for the Turben Foundation gift. “The support Idea
Center will provide to schools, colleges and universities is consistent
with our foundation goals to facilitate collaboration that improves
public education,” Turben continued.
Founded in 1995, and based in Northeast Ohio, the
Susan and John Turben Foundation provide philanthropic assistance
to projects that support health, welfare and education-based activities,
strengthening families and enhancing the lives of children.
